Today I read a fascinating, albeit brief, article in The Independent that gives some background on Claude Francois, the man whom originally penned the Frank Sinatra anthem, My Way. (Paul Anka later rewrote the lyrics today familiar to all.)
Although once popular in France, Francois is practically unknown here in the United States and, I suspect, many other locales. Musical contributions aside, Francois is also noted for having died in a very Darwin Award-worthy manner: electrocuted when he unwisely attempted to change a light bulb while standing in his bathtub.
