Hi Nancy,

Can you tell me if these two albums are available on CD's? I have been trying to find them for years with no luck.
"This is Sinatra Vol 2", recorded in 1958. Capitol number W982 and
"Look to your Heart" Capitol W1164.

I would appreciate any information you can give me.

Thank you.

To Ed...the Music Man:

I just read your comments from last year.

The show on WNEW in New York (the greatest station ever!) was on from 10 AM to either noon or 1 PM every weekday.

The host, who passed on at an early age, was William B. Williams, probably the best DJ ever.

Also on that station on Sunday mornings, you may have heard Jonathan Schwartz, who is now on XM Radio pretty much every day. He is, in my estimation, the leading authority today on Pop music and a true Sinatra historian. His dad wrote many songs and some broadway shows.

Anyone else remember any of this? Ah, the good old days....

I believe the rendition of which you refer was on the Sinatra Basie album:

Frank Sinatra recorded two renditions of the standard titled, I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter. On Sirius radio the later rendition was played, which a assume was recorded with Reprise. Do you know on what CD(s) this later renditiona appears? Thank you.

We are defintely Sinatra fans! Our daughter is named Nancy, our son has a room of Sinatra things and my husband has almost all of his records and cd's.

To help our son we are having a street sign made "Frank Sinatra Drive" with the Rancho Mirage street color.
Even our young grandsons know who he is and can sing some of his songs.

We volunteer at the Sinatra Center and enjoy that so much we can't begin to explain.

We listen to Nancy every Sunday and enjoy all the extra "tibits" she gives.

Thanks for such an enjoyable radio program.

Re: SIRUS

I received a free trail subscription for 6 months with my new car. To be frank (no pun intended) I only listen to a couple of programs. Sinatra on channel 75 being one of them. The format of the show from what I heard the past month is identical to "High Standards" formally "Franks Place" on XM radio channel 73 without Jonothan Schwartz and his insight and sharing of his impressive knowledge of Sinatra and the other great singers. I liked the XM show very much. Then Nancy and the Sinatra Family came along and ended the XM Frank's PLace format The show seems alittle empty now. Since Frank is gone and the recording stopped yeaes ago I am wondering what the family hopes to gain by releasing a live recording from their privaate vault or a rare recording evrey now and then. It is all about money when all is said and done isn'te it?

Getting back to SIRUS I am not sure I am going to renew after the 6 month freebee expires. I love Frank and his music but his SIRUS show plays the majority of what I have aquired in LP's and CD's the past 40 years.

In summary, the sound quality is okay on SIRUS but the majority of the programs are not for me. SIRUS and XM are in processing of negotiating a merger. Depending on who you talk to it would take a few months or a year to finalize and go to broadcasting under the merger. When and if that happens it should be interesting to see how the programming is affected and where "our music:, the music of Frank Sinatra and the Great American Songbook library falls.

Having been a real Frank Sinatra fan since about 1939, he has never left our family, in spirit. We play his albums all the time. I have been wondering how Nancy, Frank and Tina are doing, and if any of them have e-mail addresses that can be used by their fans.

Thanks for responding,

Helen Shannon
