Last night’s episode of The Sopranos included a special surprise guest: Nancy Sinatra, who played herself in a brief segment where she sang at a private get-together. Nancy’s appearance marks at least the second appearance by a member of the Sinatra family. Previously, Frank Jr. appeared. One wonders if Frank Sinatra himself would have appeared on the show were he still alive.

The song she sang was terrific. What is the name of the song? regards, Ed
The song was “Big Boss Man”, but it sounded nothing like her album studio version. I just spent .99 on the song and it’s really bad. The backup band on the Sopranos made it much more up-tempo and lively. The studio version is awful… don’t waste your dollar.
Thanks for the info on the song. The backup band with AJ Lambert was rocking. Whoever directed the musical segue between Tony’s rage scene in the Bing’s backroom to the Phil Leotardo birthday party was inspired. Dripping with irony and both fictional and real life bloodline drama, the ensemble performance gave me goosebumps! Nancy was did great, was cool casting and storyline, but glad to learn more about AJ Lambert.
Actually, the song is “Bossman” from her 2004 album, Nancy Sinatra. Completely different song than “Big Boss Man”.
So, Nancy fans, can we buy the Big Boss Man song she sang on The Sopranos? It was great! Her appearance was cool and atmospheric and fitted right into the compulsively brilliant saga.

Damn I need to find that song. Any tips?
I loved that song — it keeps going through my head. Would love to buy it (version on The Sopranos, not the other one — based on comments here)… she was great in that episode.
