Edward R. Murrow’s Person to Person is probably the great-grandfather of all television interview shows. If you’re over a certain age you’re well familiar with this program. (If you’re not, see Good Night and Good Luck for an outstanding primer on Murrow. ) Over the years Murrow interviewed many famous personalities, including Marilyn Monroe, JFK, Sammy Davis and, of course, Frank Sinatra.

Just out on DVD is a compilation of some of Murrow’s most famous interviews, including Sinatra’s, which may not have been seen in over 50 years. I haven’t had the chance to check it out, but I’m looking forward to purchasing a copy. Hopefully, the Sinatra interview is the full 30 minute segment; the full set is 435 minutes on 3 DVDs.
