WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Oct. 5 (UPI) — The theft of recordings of Frank Sinatra from the estate of actress Ava Gardner have led to the sentencing of a N.C. woman on embezzlement charges.
The Winston-Salem (N.C.) Journal reported that on Wednesday, 43-year-old Angela Renee Sykes received a suspended prison sentence and probation for her role in the embezzlement of the Sinatra recordings, pieces of china and several other heirlooms from Gardner’s estate.
Included among the recordings, which Sykes is required to help return to their rightful owner along with the other goods, of the musical icon is the 1949 song, “You’re My Thrill,” which is believed to have never been officially released.
The paper said that Sykes allegedly stole all the property from the estate, which has been valued at more than $1 million, between 2001 and 2005 while she was a nurse for Myra Pearce, Gardner’s closest living relative.

No one mention that A sykes was with myra pierce for 9 year and was asked by bank & family after issues with a previous care agency to become myra’s soul care giver .A sykes cared for Myra pierce before she was considered incompetent. She was soul care giver & BB&T bank had soul financial control. The family had no control of M Pierces estate. They failed to mentioned that the bank had inventoried the estate more than once. Maybe thats why the family had no control of her estate? For someone who embezzeled millions you would think there would be a money trail. No money issues were addressed in hearing or conviction On a personal note I spent 9 years of holidays with Myra Pierce,or should I say she spent them with my family. Her family didnt wish to spend their holidays w/ Myra. A Sykes cared for Myra for 9 years even in A Sykes own home, her family decides to put Myra in a nursing home. She dies 4 1/2 weeks later. I wonder if these priceless heirloms where dontaed to the Ava garner museum or sold by the family by their E Bay store?
