NEW YORK, Aug. 28 (UPI) — Fans of Frank Sinatra will be happy to know that his very first solo recording, “Our Love” will be auctioned off at Guernsey’s auction in December. The 78-rpm single was pressed in March 1939, The New York Post reported Monday.
“What I have read supports what I’ve been told — that this, indeed, is the first solo record,” said Guernsey’s President Arlen Ettinger.
“This is the first time he appeared as Frank Sinatra on a recording,” Ettinger told the Post.
The 12-inch record still plays but is a little scratchy, and it has its original sleeve from the Harry Smith Recording Studio.
Guernsey’s Ettinger is researching the demo’s worth because he says there is no precedent for such an item, the Post said.
“Will it bring $100,000 or a million dollars?” he asked. “Who knows?”
